Current position
No non-essential tracker detected
SwitchPilot currently uses only technologies needed to operate accounts, sessions, security and Paddle checkout. The repository contains no analytics, advertising or marketing-tracker integration, so no consent banner is shown.
A cookie is a small value stored by a browser. Similar local or request-based technologies can serve related purposes. The exact cookie attributes may vary between secure production and local development environments.
Strictly necessary technologies
| Technology | Purpose | When used |
|---|---|---|
| Better Auth session cookie (default name: better-auth.session_token; secure prefix may be added in production) | Signs and maintains the authenticated session, protects account access and allows sign-out. | After account creation or sign-in and during an authenticated session. |
| Temporary OAuth state cookies | Protects the GitHub or GitLab sign-in redirect against request forgery and associates the callback with the browser. | Only when an available social sign-in flow is started; designed to be short-lived. |
| Server-side session records | Stores the session identifier, expiry, and IP address or user-agent where collected. This is database storage linked to the necessary session cookie, not an analytics tracker. | During an authenticated session. |
The interface does not currently persist a separate UI-preference cookie. Component state used for menus, tabs and dialogs remains local to the current page session.
Paddle checkout
Paddle.js is initialised when checkout is opened or when the dedicated payment link page loads. Paddle may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary to provide a secure checkout, detect fraud, remember the transaction context and process payment as Merchant of Record. Those technologies are governed by Paddle's own notices and may vary by payment method and location.
SwitchPilot does not use Paddle's checkout technologies for unrelated advertising in the current implementation.
Analytics and marketing
No Google Analytics, PostHog, advertising pixel or other non-essential analytics cookie is present in the project. SwitchPilot therefore does not ask for consent to trackers it does not use.
Your controls
Browser settings can display, block or delete cookies. Blocking the necessary session cookie can prevent registration, sign-in and dashboard use. Blocking technologies required by Paddle may prevent checkout or subscription management.
Signing out removes or expires the active SwitchPilot session cookie as handled by the authentication system. For a data-rights request, follow the process in the Privacy Policy.
Future changes
If non-essential analytics or marketing trackers are introduced, this policy will be updated and, where consent is required, those trackers will remain disabled until a user makes a choice. The controls will provide equally accessible options to accept, refuse or customise and a persistent way to withdraw consent.
